I first began tutoring in high school when I was involved in the Honors Organization. I tutored math, science, and English. Later on in college, I tutored in biology and foreign languages. I am very passionate about collaborating and working with other people and I love to teach. I believe that every student is unique and recognize that we all learn in different ways. Therefore, I believe it is important to get to know every student and understand them before attempting to teach. I always have found success in this method, and many of the students that I've tutored have excelled.
I have studied at Johns Hopkins and have acquired excellent education, therefore I feel confident in helping others learn and excel. I think that tutoring is a noble job and I feel motivated to enrich a student's life and help them appreciate the value of knowledge. I am a very calm and down-to-earth person, and I'm extremely friendly. I think these aspects of my personality, as well as being a very attentive listener, make me easy to approach and removes any stress or pressure that students may feel when taught by more intimidating teachers or parents.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
