About Joe

I enjoy learning new concepts and teaching concepts I understand to students of different ages, as well as reading. I know learning new material can be confusing at times. I started elementary school in basic math and went to honors in high school. I have tutored math to all ages. Math is fun especially getting the problems right, even missing the problem can be helpful to learn from your mistakes. Foremost is understanding the concepts. I love history, and can help make it more interesting. The most satisfying part of teaching is seeing the spark in the students eye when they understand the material.

I have used math in my career as an engineer. I currently work in tech support over the phone in my full time job, so I can relate to be frustrated. The age range I work with over the phone is from 10 to 90. I know that these day almost all the young students can relate to computers, however math, science, and history can be a challenge no matter how much you know about computers. I deal with people that are afraid to use computers and help them fix computers. So I can relate to be scared of math, science, or history, it just another area that can be challenging.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master in Education from UTA. My Texas TEA teacher registration is current and includes all sciences and history. I am preparing for the mathematics test now. I have completed graduate classes in history and sociology, and education. I can teach all history, elementary math. pre Algebra, Algebra I and II, and Geometry, pre-calculus, and physical sciences.

I am willing to meet you in person at your house, my house, library, or other location. I have hours everyday. I prefer students in Irving or within 15 miles of Arlington, during the week. I am willing to drive farther on the weekends. I have a young daughter so I can understand the concern.

Excellent Tutor

My son is 13 years old son is a bit shy. When he finished his lesson with Joe he was very cheerful and happy. He explained how patient Joe had been and how he was able to take specific things in pre-algebra/algebra that he hadn't been able to grasp and put in into words in such a way that made it simple for him to understand. GO JOE!!
