I'd be happy to help you or someone else you might be looking to help with their coursework. I graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) with a Geology B.S. in August 2013, and I've been tutoring/teaching Math, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, and Chinese since January 2011. I'm currently doing my Master's in Geology at UT Arlington.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Baseball

I played baseball for 15 years in 15-week seasons. Assisted with coaching in last year.

Chemistry

James taught Chemistry at the Academic Institute, Inc. in Bellevue, WA during the '11 - '12 school year. He has also been an active chemistry tutor since summer of 2009.

Chinese

James has been teaching Chinese (Mandarin) speaking, listening, and reading for two years, mostly in one-on-one settings.

Computer Programming

I achieved score of "5" on the AP Computer Science A exam. I am experienced and can help with Java programming.

Elementary (K-6th)

I volunteered as a teacher assistant in a 5th grade grade classroom at Thornton Creek School in Seattle for one school quarter (Jan 2009 to Mar 2009). The school has a very friendly learning environment with an alternative education approach.

I worked as teacher assistant in a physics summer school class for accelerated 5th/6th grade students (at University of Washington, Seattle campus; Summer 2009).

Elementary Math

I've tutored various levels of math ranging from basic arithmetic to differential equations. I've worked students of various ages ranging from 4 years old to 65 years old.

ESL/ESOL

One year teaching students of various ages at an English training center. One year of teaching English to English majors (all non-native speakers). More than one hundred hours of one-on-one ESL tutoring.

Geometry

I've taught math at various levels (from Algebra 1 to Calculus 3) for several years. I graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) with a Geology B.S. in August 2013, and I've been tutoring/teaching Math, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, and ESL since January 2011. I'm currently doing my Master's in geology at UTPB.

Physics

James taught AP Physics at Nanjing Foreign Language School in Xianlin University Park during the '15 - '16 school year. About 70% of his students achieved a score of 3 or higher on the AP Physics 1+2 exams.

Prealgebra

Several years of experience working on prealgebra with middle students of various backgrounds

Precalculus

I've taught precalculus for several years to high school students of various math backgrounds.

SAT Math

James has taught more than 100 hours of SAT math. He has taught in tutoring centers and students' homes.

Spanish

I taught high school level Spanish for 8 months to high school students in small classroom sizes (4 to 6 students) at the Academic Institute, Inc. in Bellevue, WA.
