Experienced attorney and professor, passionate about helping students excel in law school. During law school I developed study skills and exam strategies that resulted in grading on to law review and graduating in the top 15% of my class. I have since created a system based upon my successful study skills and exam taking strategies that any student can utilize.
In addition to offering my program at a law school, I have worked with multiple students individually from 1Ls just starting out, 2Ls and 3Ls looking to finish law school strong and finally bar preparation for students taking it the first through third time. Whatever stage you are in -- about to start law school through taking the bar for the third time, I welcome the opportunity to work with you to help you be successful.
This is not a cookie cutter program. I work with my students to figure out how they best retain information and communicate it in an exam setting. We review the study plan as necessary, as you advance in your education and when life hands you a curve ball.

Melissa was a Godsend. I had already failed the Texas Bar once and I wasn't sure if I could endure another two months of studying. Melissa provided the tools and encouragement I needed. I don't live near Melissa, so we never actually met in person, but she was so accommodating and she agreed to take me on anyways and we either Skyped or Facetimed at least once a week.
She provided feedback and corrections within a timely matter. She was easy to get a hold of whether it was by text or email. I couldn't even tell we weren't in the same city. She provided a schedule of tasks with deadlines. She constantly stayed on top of me making sure I was completing the assigned tasks within the time frame allotted. She was also very easy to talk to.
My score went up 35 points with her help. I have friends that have also taken Melissa, and they have had their scores go up almost 100 points!! I honestly wish I had found Melissa my 1L year. It would have made my law school experience so much more easier! I owe my law license to her, because I could not have done it without her help! I will be forever grateful. Melissa and WyzAnt was the best money I ever spent! You won't be disappointed.
When I wasn't able to stay with our bar review schedule as we originally designed, Melissa revised it simply for me.

I came to Melissa for help preparing for the Texas Bar exam because I was a Louisiana law student in need of learning Texas law. Melissa primarily helps with the essay portion of the exam, and she was integral to ensuring that I grasped the nuances of common law and organized answers in the best light for optimal grading. She was structured in implementing a study plan/course of action, yet extremely flexible and willing to revise the schedule if and when necessary. Ultimately, she kept me on track, always encouraged and supported me, and was a gem to work with. I passed the Texas Bar exam on my first attempt, and I know my success is do in large part to Melissa's tutoring skills. Thank you again, Melissa!

Melissa is absolutely amazing. At first, I was skeptical about using a tutor in conjunction with a bar prep course. But it's a more personalized investment and strategic approach to my success in retaking the bar exam. She is quick with responses, honest with feedback and goes the extra mile. I'm certainly thankful to have found her and would recommend her to those of you in law school, taking or retaking the bar.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
