I am a career physics teacher. I majored in physics with the intention of being a teacher and have built up nearly a decade of teaching / tutoring experience since graduating. I’m adept at identifying the topics that prevent students from understanding the material and how to break it down in a way that makes sense for that student. I know which concepts are typically gaps for students and which questions to ask in order for them to build their own bridge across that gap.

Most of all, I enjoy tutoring as much as teaching. Individual education is when all students learn best, regardless of their proficiency. If you need occasional help in a difficult class, if you have fallen behind and need periodic help catching up, or if you have an upcoming test that is stressing you out, I am the tutor you have been looking for.
When students are having difficulty in math, the key is to identify the underlying topic that is preventing mastery, clearly explaining it, and then providing variations of practice for that topic so that students can master the concept.
I have TN highly qualified certification for teaching high school math and have taught Alg. 1, Alg. 2, Geometry, and Precalculus for 4 years. I have tutored students in AB and BC Calculus.
Students need to be able to associate a rich visual image with the concept / mathematics that they are learning in physics. I use analogies, computer simulations, and sketches to make sure students have a strong visual image, and then guide them through the problem solving/ explanatory process.
I have TN highly qualified certification for teaching high school physics and have taught honors/standard physics for 8 years, both in person and online. I developed the physics course that my school district uses for online students.
I taught IB physics for 4 years and have been teaching both of the AP Physics C courses (Mechanics and E&M) for the past three years.
