About Claire

I am committed to helping young minds to establish their own aspirations, and helping them create their own tools to achieve them. With that, goes a never-ending desire to learn and grow as a professional. For that reason, I am committed to continuing my education to better myself for my students. I enjoying opening the minds of students to discover their true potential in order to help them succeed at a higher level in their learning efforts.

Accessing the strengths of students, and further developing their tool box to create confidence in their learning career is my first step to tutoring. Helping students develop a love for learning, along with the desire to set goals for themselves, is what creates success, and I am dedicated to not just improving grades, but improving a student's approach to learning. This creates a lifelong path for their schooling, along with the career path they may choose for themselves in life.

I am a Certified Social Studies teacher with a profound love for history in all forms. I have an undergraduate degree in criminal justice with a specialization in juvenile justice.

I am a Certified special needs teacher with specialization in autism and intellectual disability, along with traumatic brain injury. My experience as a special needs teaching in a high school classroom has developed a strong sense of love for students that need extra support.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
