My passion for education started when I was 4 years old as I learned to read. The efforts required to learn at such an early age stayed with me into my adulthood as I completed high school, undergraduate studies, and went on to earn my M. B. A. My college journey occurred in step with a well developed career of 10+ years in Corporate America. In 2014, I was accepted to a prestigious Ph. D. program at the University of Tennessee Knoxville (they only accept 2 students/year). Much to the surprise of my husband and I, we started expecting our son shortly after I began the program. Given the rigors of academia, we made the decision that I would go back into the workforce as I became MOM instead of Doctor (I definitely got the better end of that deal!). Now that my son is here, I have decided to pursue my dream of teaching but instead of being a professor I will now be a tutor!
I have a strong background in many subjects (Math, English, Business) but given my aptitude for standardized testing, that is my main focus for tutoring at this point. I successfully passed the GMAT with a score high enough to qualify for the Ph.D. program at the University of Tennessee, therefore I feel that I am definitely qualified to work with individuals on issues they face when prepping for this exam. Not only am I strong in the Quant and Verbal sections, but I am very organized to help my students develop a study plan for success in the amount of time they have available before the exam.
Please contact me to learn more about what I have to offer in relation to tutoring.
