Kristie is a teacher, singer, mediator, entrepreneur, world traveler, and a Christian. She served as the program coordinator/associate professor in the KCTCS school system for 9 years. She also enjoys family work and took family mediator training in 2005. She is an entrepreneur who founded and owns her own business.
Kristie has traveled extensively throughout the continental United States and in Europe. To date, she has traveled overseas to Germany, Switzerland, Holland, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain and England. She is an advocate for cultural diversity and believes strongly in justice for all of mankind. Kristie created and developed the first ever cultural diversity course under human services in the KCTCS college system. She also facilitates courses in mental health, crisis intervention, family dynamics, domestic violence, addictions, counseling, case management, and other subject matters that deal with human and behavioral issues.
Kristie’s educational background includes a Master’s of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Kennesaw State University. Kristie clearly is versatile, a
leader, a visionary and a trendsetter. Kristie enjoys singing, traveling, reading, experiencing culture and meeting new people. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Kristie has experience teaching career development on a collegiate level to include resume writing, interviewing, portfolio creation, internships, goal setting, job search skills, career etiquette, professional development and dress codes.
Kristie has experience teaching study skills on a collegiate level. Study skills she as facilitated include time management, goal setting, creating outlines, effective note taking, study techniques, listening skills, group study, web based learning and writing skills.
Kristie has over 20 years experience as a Professional singer. She teaches basic vocal coaching that includes, performance techniques, pitch control, breathing and song selection and overall vocal improvement. As recording artists, she can provide guidance with studio recording, creating background vocals & harmonies, song writing & other musical techniques.
