In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have danced ballet since I was 7 years old. I have participated in the Cinderella performance before graduating from school. I have also taken Beginning Ballet, obtaining an A at the University of Richmond, VA.
I have tutored elementary students after school in Math, English and Reading. I have also taught Art to elementary students. I have been a Drama teacher teaching English through the PYP Drama program at an IB school.
Finally, I have 1 year of experience teaching English as a Second Language from Basic 1 to Advanced levels and English to students from pre-K to 12th grade at the best language academy.
I have taught private IELTS preparation classes successfully in a language academy.
I love piano. I have been playing since I was 7 years old. I received lessons for 9 years approximately, from an excellent piano teacher.
I have played the keyboard in my church's band and the piano in my family's ensemble.
I also have experience teaching private piano and group keyboard lessons, with students grades K-12 as well as college students.
I took Calculus II in college as part of the BSBA program, as I majored in International Business Administration.
I have experience teaching adults how to swim, from the very first lesson. I have been swimming since I was a child.
I have taught PYP Drama to students (Pre-K to 12th grade).
I had the wonderful opportunity of volunteering as a Theater workshop teacher at a German Christian elementary and middle school called Gutenberg. There, I led my group of 25 students to perform their play "The Selfish Giant" for Mother's Day.
In Richmond Community High School, I had the privilege of teaching Theater for Development with a group of animateurs. I worked with 15 students empowering them to lead their plays about social issues affecting their community.
I also prepared an after-school group of preschool and elementary students in a rural town in Drama by practicing the biblical Christmas story.
