Hey there, my name is Jason and I would like the opportunity to be your tutor. I am currently a 25 year old graduate from MTSU and am in the process of getting into medical school. In my leisure time I enjoy playing basketball, playing piano, reading, and swimming. I also have an internet business I build with friends from college. I have always had a passion to help and serve others to the best of my ability. I believe the way to measure a meaningful existence is not to look at how successful a person becomes, but to look at how many people are better off because that person lived. I want to help and enhance the life of as many as I can before God says that he needs to see me.
I believe that throughout history, teaching has been among the most respected professions. It is what sustains and progresses our future as human beings. I have always jumped at the opportunity to help a person who didn't understand a concept as well as I did. When building teams, selflessness in passing along knowledge is an essential key to victory. My background in teaching/ tutoring has been in scholastic and recreational areas. From a scholastic standpoint I have never tutored professionally; I have only sat down with friends, friends of friends, and fellow classmates. However, if I can effectively teach people my age the ins and outs of subject material such as physics or anatomy, I don't see myself having a problem teaching the basics. In regards to recreation I have taught swim lessons as a life guard, skill development lessons in basketball, I coached a high school track athlete who went on to break my school record, I teach my business team the principles of being an effective leader, and I also teach piano lessons.
I would describe my teaching methods as easy going, descriptive, and effective. A good teacher is a patient teacher that can relate to their student. I know that I didn't understand everything at first glance and had to ask questions. I like to call the principles I live my life by ART (being accountable, responsible, and teachable). All I ask is that my potential students try to adopt these same principles to ensure a successful partnership. I also learned along my way that if I don't posses the answer to a question, I am to find that answer myself or go up line to someone who does. I will never leave a student clueless or any question unanswered. I really look forward to teaching you!!! Hey there, my name is Jason and I would like the opportunity to be your tutor. I had the opportunity to be one of Jason's first students he tutored. Being an non-traditional student it was a little uncomfortable to be needing a tutor. Jason was patient and understanding. He had a very relaxed way of teaching some complicated material in easy to understand language.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
