Although I showed a love for the Spanish language as a child, I began seriously studying the language in high school. It was so intriguing that I pursued Spanish for three years. After graduating, I made Spanish my major in college. I actively participated on study abroad trips such as Saltillo, Mexico and Guanajuato, Mexico. (I also visited Puerto Rico on my own.) In Saltillo, Mexico, I mainly learned about the agricultural aspects of the culture since I traveled with a group of agriculture majors in college. In Guanajuato, I attended the University of Guanajuato where I further developed my language proficiency skills and received college credit for the advanced classes I took. I also stayed with a host family, where I not only practiced the language academically but also personally. I graduated Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor's in Spanish and a minor in History. Later, I began my teaching career as a high school Spanish teacher for three years. My students received high scores on the language proficiency test at the year's end. Now, I currently teach ESL, where the population of students are primarily Hispanic. I love the Hispanic community as well as the Spanish language.
I majored in Spanish and taught the language for three years. As a highly qualified teacher for the last four years, I am equipped with not only the knowledge of the Spanish but also the skill set and strategies to help my students become proficient. I also tailor my lessons to the needs of the students knowing that students are not on the same proficiency levels.
Please contact me via email with all questions and concerns. Also, let me know in advance what skills you currently have in the language if any so that the lesson will be tailored to your specific needs. Hello everyone,
