It is truly a joy to experience a student gaining understanding of a once difficult subject. It is extremely important that our lessons be conducted in a laid back style which I believe allows students to learn without the undue stress caused by a harsh and/or stiff approach to learning.
I have successfully completed college level math courses up to Applied Math which has Calculus 3 as a prerequisite. I have over 20 years of tutoring experience and I have tutored approximately 30 students both children and adults. I have tutored students from kindergarten to college level in subject areas arithmetic to Calculus 2. I have also helped students to prepare for math TCAP and ACT tests.
I worked as a teacher for Memphis City Schools servicing East High School for 4 years (1998-2002) before moving into a position with Shelby County Schools as a Health Technician in 2003. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Psychology with minors in Math and Engineering from Tennessee State University.
I realize that people have various learning styles and I believe It is very important to allow a student to understand or 'get it' in a way that makes sense to the student.
