I have 30 plus years as an American Sign Language instructor. I am a proud Culturally Deaf person. At present, I teach ASL classes for adults at Deaf Connect in Memphis part time. In the past I worked with Deaf Family Literacy plus their hearing siblings, grandparents, hearing friends that are in the deaf child's life and love to see a deaf child to be in a language barrier free family so that the child will thrive in education. A small warning...I can be a bit loony at times but I do want to see you all succeed in this class. It is my pleasure to help anyone all succeed as well. During the lesson time, there will be no voice talking. I have been told that I can speak pretty well for a profoundly deaf person.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
