I am a patient, dedicated, and understanding Special Education Teacher with 7 years experience teaching and 14 years experience working with at-risk children. I am interested in working with students seeking extra help with their reading, writing and English skills. I am qualified to work with multiple learning style students and disabilities and I can offer differentiated instructional strategies to assist your child's learning. My aim is to help your child reach their fullest potential in achieving their academic goals while having fun as they learn.
My philosophy is that every child can learn and it is the determination and the motivation of a teacher that encourages students to learn. As a teacher, my mission is to ensure that all children are knowledgeable and capable of understanding information that is presented to them to enhance their daily lives. As a parent myself, I look at the qualities and characteristics of my own child’s teachers and how they are motivating and hands on with making sure she retains information. Therefore, I incorporate the same traits when working with the students I teach.
In addition, strategies I have used in my classroom include graphic organizers to assist students with higher order thinking skills that are critical in everyday life. I assess students to determine their current levels and design lessons based on their specific needs and benchmarks we want to achieve. As a teacher, the use of data based instruction is essential to student achievement because it improves their academic performance.Give me the opportunity to work with your child; I look forward to working with your child to assist them in their educational achievements. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
