Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

Tutoring in this subject would include such topics as articulation, breathing exercises, pronunciation, dialect, and tone. Along with these elocution exercises, students can be taught how to cope with fears of public speaking through anti-anxiety techniques. They will learn to breathe from the diaphragm in order to enhance speech as well as learn the proper places to pause in order to give the most convincing and effortless performance possible. Certain exercises used will be tongue twisters and monologues that can stretch and train the student's abilities to the fullest. I can also teach students how to pick a topic and execute it through the various forms of persuasive, demonstrative, informative, etc. speeches. Along with the actual speaking exercises, I can train students on how to use rhetoric, motif, syntax, and vocabulary to their advantage when writing a speech.
