Hello, my name is Shirley. I am eager to share my passion for reading with you. It is my belief that reading supports the basic foundation for learning at any level.
When my children were much younger, I remember helping them review for their weekly vocabulary and spelling test. In the beginning, I was more excited than they were regarding their homework. Whenever they were given reading assignments, I would prepare mock test to see how well they understood the material. I was always anxious to see the test results when they returned home from school the day following our study sessions. Once they realized that the tutoring really worked, they became excited as well. Later, I became a high school reading tutor and experienced the same enthusiasm with the students as they improved and excelled under my instruction.
As a parent, and as a former undergraduate student, I have acquired the patience and the knowledge to provide you with instruction on improving your reading skills as well. Reading is a part of every day life. The more you read, the more motivated you will become. It will give you the confidence to accept more challenges in life and become more knowledgeable. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your individual tutoring needs. Hello, my name is Shirley. I am eager to share my passion for reading with you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
