Freed-Hardeman University (History)
I graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with my degree in History and Education as a second major. I have traveled to China as an ESL teacher and am looking to teach ESL in Asia in the future. I am new to tutoring students and would really appreciate the experience of helping students with their work. My teaching style is very personal and one on one. I do seem to teach best in that type of setting.
Apart from school subjects, my own interests and activity in them enable me to tutor those interested in playing guitar and in singing. I have been playing guitar since I was 12 years old. At this point I have been playing guitar for over half my life. The main genre of music I play is country music but I am opening up to other styles of music, mainly contemporary Christian music. I have been singing for as long as I can remember and would be more than willing to help train you in vocal abilities.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you out in anything you need help in. That is what I am here for.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was just certified to teach ESL back in November of last year. Although I have only been ESL certified for two months now, I have had prior experience teaching the English language to students whose first language is not English. From 2007-2008, I traveled to China to teach English in that country. After having taken a 100 hr. TESOL course, I believe I am much more prepared and able to teach ESL. I am looking for the opportunity to teach ESL again and to use the lessons I have learned from the course.
I have been playing guitar since I was twelve years old. I will soon be twenty-five years old so that means that this year I will have now been playing guitar for over half of my life. My field of expertise in regard to guitar is country music but I also like playing Christian music too. If you are interested in learning to play guitar, I would be willing to help you out.
I have grown up Church of Christ, but I'm kind of in it but not of it. All people who have come to faith in Jesus and HIS saving work on the cross are my brothers and sisters in Christ. I have pastored for two small country churches in my life and have done two mission trips, one was long term to China for eight months and the other was to Kenya just this summer. I really feel God's calling to be a full-time missionary and I do believe that everything that has happened to me since I first got saved till now is preparing me for that purpose. I would be glad to help you out on any religious questions or Bible classes you may take. Other religious classes would be fine too. I am learning about Islam as I am feeling God's call to go the Muslim world.
I was in chorus for most of my time in high school, from 10th grade to 12th grade. I was then in chorus for all of my time in college, except for my last semester which was spent student teaching. I have been privately trained in vocals and have been singing since I was very young. I sing mostly country music but am really beginning to sing and perform more contemporary Christian music. It's hard to transition as you get so used to singing in the country music style and it's hard not to let that twang sound pass over into another genre, especially if you're from the South, as I am.
