University of Cape Coast (Mathematics)
I'm Frederick, and I live in the Greater Nashville Area. I absolutely love mathematics and science and have a true passion for teaching. I have lots of teaching and tutoring experience, which spans over 10 years period. I have successfully taught students with varied background, ranging from middle school to college-age, and non-traditional students.
In the past few years, I have tutored students in my local church in mathematics at both college level and high school. I have also tutored students to pass their ACT and SAT tests to gain admissions into colleges such as Vanderbilt, MTSU and TSU.
Over the years I have successfully helped students in different disciplines of mathematics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
I am trained teacher with a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. After receiving my degree I taught at Takoradi International School (TIS), Ghana for 6 years.
Through my varied teaching experience, I have developed strong critical thinking skills and the ability for creative problem solving. Besides pastoring a local church here in Nashville, I am devoting my daily life full-time to tutoring and teaching.
As a tutor, I make learning interesting by engaging the student's natural curiosity. That is, I tap into the every day activities that goes on around us and use these familiar concepts to explain relatively abstract or difficultly mathematical concepts to my students.
I will work with your child in a professional manner that will harness his/her own learning style to help him/her reach their maximum potential. I look forward to working with you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
