Is your child is restless and bored with school? Are they in "Trouble" and aren't doing as well as everyone else? Chances are they simply bored and don't want to listen. All children have a different learning style ,and rarely two siblings have they same style. I can help to find what style works best for the individual student in order to ensure success. This will always be a collaborative effort between tutor, parents, and school. Hello, my name is Jennifer. As a private tutor, I would my pleasure to guide and nurture your child through the reading and writing process. We will tackle those obstacles and difficulties they might have affect reading and writing on the student's reading ability level. Children sometimes get left behind and can't catch up, so all subjects prove to be difficult and trying for young students. They often struggle in science an social studies because of reading skills, but having an one one situation is best for young learners. They adapt and improve quickly.
I am a certified elementary education teacher with fifteen+ years of experience in and out of the classroom. Many of the extra seminars and endorsements which I have earned all revolve around Elementary school reading and writing. These areas of endorsement are what am most passionate about as well.
My approach when teaching a student is to take it slow and begin at the appropriate level and move and progress from that point. Many times students give verbal and or non verbal cues on their successes and or failures, and it is my job to figure out how to progress with out frustration to proficiency. People would describe me as a charismatic and up beat teacher. My love for reading is genuine, and I have two teenagers who are super readers and writers to prove it. They are very confident at school and have all of the skills necessary to succeed with any school related challenge that is placed in front of them. Personally, I believe having a strong and confident reader and writer is the gate way to success. What makes me a great teacher of language, writing, and proofreading is the fact that I won't give up until the student is proficient enough to satisfy all state requirements, and or the goals set by the students and parents. Basics always come first, because that is a major stepping stone on the way to being a successful learner. People would call me charismatic and and enthusiastic tutor, and I love to teach! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
