“**Very knowledgeable and patient**”

I went to school to study physics and ended up getting a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics. After working in applied physics for a while I realized that I really missed the experience of teaching. My goal now is to continue working at Colleges that focus on education and work on creating strong distance learning techniques and problems to bring

John is an excellent tutor. He makes it very easy for my kids to understand AP Calculus. He knows the material and explains it in a way they can understand.

Online lesson in Algebra 2. My daughter was very happy with the results. Patient and able to hone in on what she needed to do to understand the concepts. Was a bit hesitant with the online classroom but it was very successful.

This guy has really motivated me to excel in my studies. This guy will literally come at his students from any angle necessary to get the material across to them in a way that they can comprehend. John makes learning so much fun it doesn't even seem like work. That being said , John prefers his students to take the time to acquaint themselves with material before session (although that isn't a requirement showing you him you care will get you a longgg way. If you simply want someone to do your homework this is not the tutor for you.

I used John for Calc 1 and went from a C- on my first exam to finishing the course with a B+. I am continuing to use his knowledge for Calc 2.

I have been struggling with certain AP Physics problems and units (such as momentum) and he explained the problems in a new and easier way. He helped me with problems that would take me hours in an efficient way that made more sense. I will definitely be coming back to him for help in the future.

Great tutor and has lots of patience. Although, four stars because have had few problems wrong with every assignment he's helped. Nonetheless still great tutor.

John was very clear in his explanations of the problems that we worked on. He went slowly and helped me to understand each step required to achieve the correct answer. The next time I need a tutor I will definitely contact him again!

John is a brilliant tutor! He is passionate, caring and flexible. He always ensures that the concepts are mastered before teaching new information. He has provided me with invaluable strategies and techniques in solving difficult precalculus problems.

My son, who is struggling with the trigonometric parts of AP Physics C, says that John helped him tremendously. He's much more comfortable in the areas that he was having trouble with. Will be using John regularly from now on!

John was very patient with my sister and did a fantastic job of asking questions and making sure things clicked.

John is the best physics tutor I've ever had. He helps build confidence and clearly has a gift for tutoring one of the most challenging college courses.

John helped my daughter prepare for her Math 140 Trig college class with ease & lots of knowledge n the subject! We'll be using him again!

Integration using partial fractions factoring perfect cubes and manipulation of the results such that the problem derivative identified direction so that with algebra it was transformed to fit the correct form enabling logarithmic and trigonometric solutions. Good stuff.

He was absolutely a smart person and helped me tremendously with excel. He is very enthusiastic and encouraging which is very important in the midst of feeling overwhelmed and seeking help from a tutor. He is great!

My son loves John. He helped him with difficult math problems had. He is looking forward to the next session with him

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra is an important foundation for all math and science you will learn from now on. I tutor Algebra mainly with college students though I am comfortable working with high school students as well. My formal math education includes a minor in Math.

I have a math minor from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a Ph.D. in physics. I tutor Algebra 2 at a local community college. I like to focus on building or repairing the math foundation the student has to help them in this class and make their next math classes easier for them.

I tutor Calculus at a local community college and have a minor in math form the University of Tennessee. I have a Ph.D. in physics and calculus is a foundation of the study of physics. I have strong theory skills in this subject as well as applications to more real situations to explain the importance of calculus.

I have worked for many years with students who struggle with math. I find that most students who struggle later in math have a weak foundation in the basics. I also come from a family where primary education is part of the family business so I am use to working with and lesson planning for younger children. Because of my teaching philosophy and family experience I enjoy working with math and science students from the very beginning.

I have a Ph.D. in physics and work with students who need help in math and physics. Having a physics background requires a lot of spacial problem solving which allows me to help students understand geometry problems due to its visual nature.

I have a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I have tutored physics for a few years while in school and now do so at a local community college. Any class you are struggling with in physics I should be able to help!

I have worked for many years with students who struggle with math. I find that most students who struggle later in math have a weak foundation in the basics. Because of my teaching philosophy I enjoy working with students as early as possible making algebra and pre-algebra particularly important to me even though I tutor math through calculus III.

I have a math minor from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a Ph.D. in physics. I tutor Precalculus at a local community college. I like to focus on building or repairing the math foundation the student has to help them in this class and make their next math classes easier for them.

I have a math minor from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a Ph.D. in physics. Trigonometry is key to solving mechanics problems in physics so I have a lot of experience tutoring this subject in both physics and pre-calculus. I like to focus on building or repairing the math foundation the student has to help them in this class and make their next math classes easier for them.
