I taught English and business communication courses for two private colleges. While I worked on my undergraduate degree, I researched and developed a thesis paper consisting of over 135 pages and 20 sources. I have experience with MLA, APA and Turabian formatting. Moreover, I have tutored and edited papers for students at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Maryville College is renowned for the intense course work, and the standard for writing is very high. As an English major, I was required to write several in-depth papers analyzing pieces of literature, peer reviewed journal articles, and poetry.

I enjoy playing chess, cooking, hiking and crocheting. I am fluent in American Sign Language and currently taking Mandarin lessons.

Great First Lesson with Kat!

My first tutoring lesson with Kat went great! She was knowledgeable and able to maintain functional conversation with me in ASL. Next time I will probably keep an online signing dictionary handy to reference some discrete words. She was able to clear up some questions I had about ASL syntax and grammar, and for the most part she respected my request to be tutored voice-off! I appreciated her time and plan on scheduling another session in the future when I’m free!

Quickly available and very effective first session

My daughter in college needed some additional live support prior to her ASL final exam. Kathleen was able to meet with her quickly, help her to review her curriculum, and was a hit with my daughter.

Great Paper review

Kathleen was a wealth of knowledge helping me with my paper. Her skills using word doc allowed me to have a better understanding with my future assignments. I highly recommend Kathleen for potential clientele pursuing a master’s degree in any field of study.

Bader, 1 lesson with Kathleen

Kathleen did just what I needed.

Very knowledgeable and patient, she knew how much to teach without overdoing, she allowed time for me to perform the skill after she demonstrated, she encouraged me to repeat what she taught on my own. She was what I needed.
