I have an associates degree in elementary education and I am graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business Management and leadership. My heart has always had a place for children and I love working with them. My goal as a tutor is to help a student in need to accomplish a goal in his or her education. My specialties are English, vocabulary, and spelling. I am down to earth, fun, and hard working.
I always try to put my heart into everything I do, and want to share my knowledge with upcoming students whether it be elementary or high school. I will strive for greatness with my students and expect them to try their best but I will always be a friend. I want to be a good role model for my students and try to be there for them. There is a certain time for working hard and a time for fun. I hope I get an opportunity to work with your child and help him or her succeed. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Cooking has always been more of a hobby for me. I love to bake cakes, cookies, brownies, etc… I also do birthday cakes and soon wedding cakes. I want to learn all that I can but also share my passion.
Elementary school students are beginners at life. I am currently working towards my B.A in elementary education. I really want to make a student's life successful in any way I can. I really can work with K-6th grade but I seem better at working with K-3rd graders. I participated in a field experience job with my college where I went to an elementary school and helped out in the 1st grade class. I helped the teacher do anything she wanted me to and also graded papers and taught a portion of a certain subject while in the classroom. I have experience that I would like to share.
Handwriting at first was hard but having neat, and well written handwriting can show great penmanship. I love cursive writing and print. Using a practice sheet to trace the letter in cursive then practice works well. Cursive isn't taught in school anymore but I think that it should be put back in the schools.
Spelling is a crucial part of school and life. I am good at remembering words and definition matching, and studying for a spelling test. Memorization is the key to success in spelling and learning with house hold objects or anything tangible is something I do to visualize the words. I am calm and patient and spelling as always been my strong spot in school. Giving it your best is all a student can do and I am here to help anyway I can. K-3rd grade is the level for which I am studying in college but K-6th will be delightful to work with.
