Anderson University - Indiana (Music Education)
My passion and love for teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning. From a young age, I have always been adamant about being the best that I could be in whatever I was working towards, whether that be my schoolwork, my dance technique, or fitness.
I graduated cum laude from Anderson University in Indiana, which shows that I am a hard worker who would love to tutor your elementary-aged child in any subject in which they may be struggling. I also am proficient in a variety of the performing arts. I was an NFL Colts Cheerleader in 2014, a top ten contestant in the Miss Ohio pageant, and an elementary music teacher for 3 years. All of these accomplishments show that I am passionate and proficient in dance, theater, public speaking, and musical performance. I would be honored to help hone you or your child's skill in any of these areas.
A few of my most proud accomplishments and credentials are that I am a Certified Elementary Music Teacher in Vocal and Band (K-12) as well as a seasoned private vocal and piano teacher. During college, I completed in a variety of pageants within the Miss America System, even placing in the top 10 at Miss Ohio my final year of competition. During my tenure as a contestant, I was an interview, swimsuit, and talent award recipient. Also during college, I served as the secretary of NAFME (National Association for Future Music Educators) in my college's club.
In the realm of fitness, I not only have the passion and personal dedication to fitness, but I have the drive and the credentials to successfully help others achieve their goals. In addition to my accolades in the pageant system, I also was an Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader, which entails not only the stamina to endure an entire football game of performing for the crowd, but weekly group workouts. I am now currently a member of Crossfit box, where I workout every day in addition to being certified as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
I am passionate about helping others become their best selves. Whether that be tweak your academic skills for that upcoming test, polish your resume or interview skills, hit that high note, nail that high kick, or lose those pesky last few pounds, I am the woman that can help you create and reach your goals. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been active my entire life, participating in dance and gymnastics from the age of 4 onward. I cheered with the Indianapolis Colts as a cheerleader, which involves strenuous physical fitness and daily group workouts. I also recently received my certification as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Ever since I was 2 years old, I have been singing, dancing, and playing instruments for the enjoyment of others! I studied ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, modern, partner, and cheerleading from the age of 4 through present day. Along with my love and expertise for dance, I developed quite a love and savvy for music. I studied voice privately for 8 years, participated in many musicals and operas, as well as serving as the elementary music teacher for 3 years at a public school in Indiana. Whether I perform on a stage, or help others to perform, I have what it takes to help you reach your performing goals!
I began studying piano at the age of 6 years old. I took a brief break from piano in my high school years to focus in on dance and singing, but I never lost my passion for the art form. I went on to study classically throughout most of my college years under Randy Frieling, who performed at Carnegie Hall. I studied classical, jazz, and musical theatre, in addition to accompanying for some voice lessons throughout my tenure at college. As a music teacher, I utilized my piano skills on a daily basis by accompanying my students songs and games, even accompanied them during their live music programs and choir performances. Whether I perform on a stage, or help others to perform, I have what it takes to help you reach your performing goals in piano!
