I received my BA degree in English, and I have always had a great interest in reading, writing, etc. I have a fairly firm grasp of the English language including vocabulary and writing skills. I received an Honors Convocation award at Northeast State Community College in 2010 because of my abilities and interest in Astronomy. I also read Physics/Astronomy books for leisure and keep up with new discoveries and concepts.
I use basic/Elementary math regularly in my job and personal life. I took three years of honors math, all which involved a lot of Algebra, so I have retained most of the concepts throughout my adult life. I also worked for a math teacher (ranging from Pre Algebra through Probability and Statistics) at Northeast State Community college for three semesters. I often worked on keys for grading as well as figuring out grade percentages, points, and overall grades for the class.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
