Teaching organic chemistry has always been my passion from my undergraduate days especially to colleagues and students who have the conviction that it is the worst area in chemistry. In order to make this a reality, I became a teaching assistant at the University of Cape Coast right after my BSc in chemistry degree.
I further continued to ETSU, TN to study for my Msc chemistry where organic chemistry is my major and area of research. I have been a Teaching assistant over the last four semesters teaching general chemistry and organic chemistry labs and assisting professors in teaching organic chemistry classes. I have also handled review sessions in these area over this period of time. I believe every student is capable of making an impact in this area of chemistry. All they need is a mindset that is determined to overcome.
I have also assisted professors in teaching classes. I believe being a student of this too, I can help students understand this area more by overcoming the problems they are facing now which I did face too in the same. I can also offer student easier and efficient ways of studying this course by providing good solutions to these problems.
The human mind is an awesome organ, capable of understanding anything. All it needs is the right way to approach and analyse a problem. My goal is not only to help students better their grades but to also give them an alternative choice in making organic chemistry an area of interest to pursue in their academic career.
