I taught High School Geometry and Honors Geometry in a classroom setting for 4 years. I try to utilize hands on activities as often as possible and enjoy keeping students engaged. While teaching, I volunteered to tutor after school in a one-on-one setting. This tutoring was for all math classes on a personal need basis, so I helped students in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. I'm very laid back and easy going with a sense of humor. I don't want math to be a chore and try to make it as fun as possible.
I truly care about the students mastering the subject matter and not just learning it for a test. I'm patient and willing to do whatever it takes to help you learn and make sure you grasp the concepts so that you are able to do them on your own. My tutoring style typically starts with a questioning approach. I break down problems to their simplest parts and build from there based off the students knowledge of the subject.
