Hello! As a mother of three and a former 5th grade teacher, I love helping children reach their full potential. I have experience from teaching 4 year-olds to read to tutoring high school students in Algebra and just about everything in between. I excelled in my studies in high school and college, achieving a 3.9 GPA at each institution. I look forward to helping other students achieve success in their academic pursuits!
I have done very well in my math classes all the way through Calculus and Statistics. One of my favorite parts of teaching 5th grade was teaching the math curriculum in a way that made the students able to understand the content in a way they never thought possible.
Reading is one of my very favorite pastimes. I scored a perfect score on the Reading section of my ACT in high school. I love to pass on a love of reading to my children and students. I helped both of my sons learn to read before they started kindergarten. I love to see struggling readers find joy and purpose in reading!
I have spent all of my adult life working with children in a variety of settings. From teaching fifth grade to being a camp counselor and craft teacher to being a stay-at-home mom, I am typically able to quickly develop a great working relationship with kids. My bachelor's degree is in Child Development and Learning with Teacher Licensure.
After taking the last few years off from teaching in the classroom to focus on raising my own preschool-age children, I am excited to get back to helping students excell. While I enjoyed my time in the classroom, my very favorite teaching experiences have always occurred in small group settings or one-on-one. I look forward to helping your student excel! Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
