Bryan College (Criminal Justice)
Hi! My name is Peter, and I've been tutoring students of all ages for a few years now. I love helping students experience the joy of learning and understanding more about the world we live in - the moment when something clicks into place makes my day. I'm a junior at Bryan College, but I'm also a lifelong learner. I have traveled to all of the lower 48 states, and I lived in Europe for over six months. I have a passion for learning about all kinds of subjects, but history and science are my favorite. Of course, English and reading are the foundations of learning, so I enjoy those, too.
I work at Bryan College as an English tutor, but when I'm home from college, I tutor middle school and high schoolers in a variety of subjects. I think that the most important thing about tutoring is remembering that we all have different passions, strengths, and weaknesses. It's important for me to help my clients see their strengths, but it's also important to help them appreciate areas they're weak in, and work to develop those instead of being afraid of them.
I'm an exceptional math tutor because I know that there are multiple ways to look at each math problem. I can approach any given problem in a number of ways - whatever makes the most sense to the client - and help them translate that method to multiple problems.
English is the foundation for our learning, and it really forms the backbone of communication. Because I have such a passion for reading and learning, I'm able to help other students find how to translate their passion for other subjects into good reading habits.
I have a unique edge on American History because I have seen so much of it for myself. I did not simply read about Plymouth Rock - I went there. I haven't just read about Gettysburg, I hiked all over the battlefield. I have a deep understanding and love for the events that have shaped our nation, and I continue to study and learn more all the time.
I would love to talk to you about what time works for you so that I can help you excel and love learning. Hi! My name is Peter, and I've been tutoring students of all ages for a few years now. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
