I am currently a "career" college student because I can't seem to decide on a major. So, I have a plethora of different courses under my belt. I have always excelled in Mathematics, from basic adding and subtracting all the way up to Geometry, and English, including grammar and literature as well as paper writing. This makes me helpful to students struggling with difficult algebra homework or the ever so fearful English research paper.
As a Beta Club service project in high school, I tutored elementary students in various subjects. I learned what an amazingly gratifying feeling it is to see the look on someone's face when that light bulb comes on and they suddenly understand what you are trying to teach them. Not only that, but the improved confidence that is achieved by no longer having to struggle to learn is worth it's weight in gold. That being said I would love the opportunity to help your child reach his/her potential.
My hours are very flexible. I will do my best to be available whenever it is convenient for you. My fee is $50/hour. I would appreciate at least a 2 hour cancellation notice. As a courtesy I would like to offer a trial session- a consultation of sorts free of charge of course to ensure that your student and I are a good match. I am willing to come to you at your home or we can use the public library for our sessions. I'm open to whatever works best for you. Thank you for considering me as your tutor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
