For the past 7 years I have been tutoring and teaching Mathematics at Middle Tennessee State University. I started tutoring as a graduate teaching assistant in August 2009 whiles pursuing my Masters Degree in Mathematics. My absolute joy was always to see the light bulb turn on for students who were struggling to understand one concept or the other. I was given several opportunities to substitute teach in the absence of different faculty members. This was due to my noticeable performance in the lab.
In the summer of 2010 I was hired as the interim director of the Universities Studies Mathematics lab. I was appointed director of the University Studies Mathematics lab from August 2010 - May 2011 because of my outstanding abilities to tutor students. I have currently defended my PhD Dissertation and look forward to graduate in August, 2016 commencement at MTSU.
My approach to tutoring has always been to help the student understand the basic concept behind the subject matter and gradually build on from there. I am always very patient with my students and give several examples that will help them understand the subject being discussed. I love one-on-one tutoring although I would not mind teaching a small group if the subject of interest is the same.
I have been a mathematics tutor and instructor at MTSU for close to 7 years and have been top ranked in the Mathematics department with very high points on all my student evaluations. Please contact me about any questions you may have! I look forward to working with you.
