One thing people can say about me is that I enjoy running and going to the gym. Running provides me with a moment in life to escape reality, and the gym allows me to relax. I am the middle child of two terrific brothers. Also I have a beautiful family that consists of my wife and two kids. My goal in life is to learn how to swim!!!
I graduated from The University of Chattanooga. I furthered my education at Union University, were I earned my master and education specialist degrees. At the present time, I work at an elementary school, teaching 4th grade. I am also a tutor at my school. My goal in life is to open my own school.
I have been tutoring since the eighth grade. In junior high, I tutored at an Elementary. In High School I tutored for an outreach program that my school was involved in. In college, I worked with DCS in Chattanooga, TN as a tutor for students that was been in state custody. As I entered into my professional career, tutoring was still a part of my life. I’m currently a tutor at my school, and was the site coordinator for the SES tutoring program. I specialize in general education.
While in middle school, I considered myself the child that was caught in the middle. I say this because I was not smart enough to be ranked with high scholars in my class and too smart for the low group which left me in a gray/middle area. This all changed when my third grade teacher Mrs. Smith devoted her spare time to tutor me in my troubled areas. Her help motivated me to push myself. As a tutor and teacher I strive to help my students to become self motivated and realize they have the potential to be excel and rank in the top of the class. I like to think each child has the ability to reach their maximum potential if a path is designed according to their individual needs. The format should be created by the child and tutor. Once it’s established, my job is to guide and coach.
I look forward from hearing from you and helping you in your studies. One thing people can say about me is that I enjoy running and going to the gym. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a licensed teacher. I am endorsed in all subject areas Prek-6th, except art and music. I have earned a level 5 award for the last three years; five is the highest level in evaluating teacher performance. I began tutoring in the 9th grade, which has stuck with me into my adult life.
