St. Petersburg College
Hello. A bit about me:
I've worked with students in elementary schools as a Literacy Success tutor. This allowed me to help students to achieve their academic goals. I worked alongside the teachers, students, and parents to help the students reach "benchmark" in their studies. I have the ability to establish an environment with the students that allows for growth, while embracing success and teaching them that failures are part of the learning process. I often work with students who have been held back or overlooked by the education system, so I am very proficient in dealing with students who just don't want to learn anymore. It's frustrating for a child who thinks that he or she is "stupid" to want to learn. They don't understand why they can't do the same work that their classmates can, and quite often, the teachers don't have the time it takes to sit with them and help them. They just need patience and the ability to be in an environment free of judgment, paired with teaching styles which match their learning style. I believe that learning is fun, and learning can be done in any and all environments. Therefore, I am able to engage the children where they may not have been engaged before. I am experienced in tutoring children of all ages, through babysitting (as I enrich while I babysit), and can match my teaching techniques to any age level. I didn't mean to write a novel here....But please contact me for more information, I'd love to speak with you. Helping children is my passion, and my goal in life. I would be honored to have the opportunity to help. Hello. A bit about me:

It was the 1st lesson for our granddaughter. Lillie's mom tells us she really liked the lesson, it was fun........which is a great start! Anita offers a reward type teaching, what child does not like a treat. It is a distance for the tutor so we hope Anita will stick with us. Thank you so much!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
