I have had the wonderful pleasure of teaching k-2 students for 29 years. Teaching and making a difference in the lives of children has been one of my life's greatest blessings. I have a great deal of experiencing in working with tutoring students in math and reading. I use many creative ways to give students the tools they need for success. I believe fully in differentiation and meeting the students where they are. I believe that it's my job to help the student find their best strategy for solving problems and to help them find that what they are learning relates to real world experiences. I will be their "cheerleader" to help them believe that... Yes, they can do it!

I have tutored students k-4 in math. I use many hands on activities along with online resources and games to strengthen the gaps missing for the foundations of math problem solving.

I have a great deal of experience with tutoring and teaching k-3 in reading. I use several different reading strategies from "The Cafe" which strengthen student abilities in fluency, accuracy, comprehension, and understanding the meaning of new words. I am a level 5 teacher in reading.

I have 29 years of experience in teaching phonics. I use the "Pasi" to determine the area or gap that the student is missing and we begin there with CVC, blends, diagraphs, long vowel/silent e, predictable vowel teams,unpredictable vowel teams, and further on as needed.

I have great experience in showing student growth. I believe that communication with parents is vital. I have received Teacher of the year K-4 2 times for my school site and one time for the county. I have been "The Titans Teacher" of the year and "Office Max" Teacher of the year. I have a great amount of experience but still feel that it is important to learn and grow to help prepare children as best I can to be successful leaders of tomorrow!
