I have an MEd from Mississippi State University and a BSE in Business from Delta State University. I have taught school for forty years. Teaching at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college level, I have covered various levels of teaching, with most of my experience teaching high school students. I have taught in both public and private schools. After retiring from teaching in May of 2015, I realized that I really missed working with students. That is one reason I am wanting to tutor students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a teacher in the Career and Technology Department at a high school, I was responsible for teaching career development to high school students. This included the preparation for applying for a job, preparing a resume, preparing for an interview, and proper followup expectations when getting a job. Mock interviewing was used to help prepare students for interviews.
