About Kristin

Bio

I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky in Biology and a Master of Public Health. My area of study was Epidemiology which is sometimes called the "science" of Public Health. I have done research in animal physiology working with Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism, as well as clinical research using behavioral interventions to understand the pathogenesis of diabetes and ways to improve lung function in asthmatics.

I tutored Algebra I while as a senior in high school during my study hall period. Algebra is just as much about developing reasoning skills as it is coming up with the solution. So it is important to develop these skills.

While I majored in Biology, I also had a deep love for chemistry. I appreciate how biology, chemistry, and physics are all connected. The farther I go in my studies the more I understand just how everything works together. I have taken animal physiology, cell & molecular biology, genetics, stem cell biology, medical
toxicology, organic chemistry, and Biochemistry. I have also taken epidemiology content courses related to cancer and chronic diseases.

I have been helping classmates with homework since grade school, but I have never believed in just giving them the answers because I believe that does more harm than good. I want to help people understand the "why" something happens and be able to think critically and apply knowledge to solve other problems.

I have taken both animal physiology and human anatomy and physiology courses. I worked in a lab studying the serotonergic system of Drosophila and co-authored a paper and presented research at a conference on my findings. I have been working as a research associate under an exercise physiologist for a year and a half conducting literature reviews and working on two clinical research projects on the pathophysiology of asthma and diabetes.

She is very knowledgable of the subject matters

She is teaching me a lot on how to read and right out and solve the statistical equations, such as permutations, combinations, read of pies, bell shape distributions of variable.. She is very friendly and patient,
