I have always had a passion for education. As a child with creative abilities, I came up with non-traditional strategies to achieve the grades and success I wanted. When I entered college, I soon realized I had a knack for teaching other students- likely due to my self-taught educational background. This is why I have been led to tutoring.
My five years in UTC's honors college have exposed me to several new areas in which I am now able to tutor, like comparative literature, religion, grammar, reading comprehension, and environmental science. I also tutor for ACT prep (especially in English and Reading sections).
I believe to successfully teach someone you must first understand their learning methods and form the educational strategy to those methods. Everyone learns in a different way, and I believe I am very good at perceiving these differences in students.
I made a 35 on the ACT English portion and a 34 on the ACT Reading portion. I have taken advanced courses through high school in English and literature, and continued taking numerous English and writing courses in college.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I danced competitively in a ballet-focused studio from the ages of 3-17. After high school, I danced on my college's dance team for a year. I worked as an assistant ballet instructor when I was in high school for four years, and I taught ballet for another year in 2015.
