I am a second-year PhD student at the University at Buffalo originally from Washington, DC. My research at the university is focused primarily on nanomaterial synthesis. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling and playing golf.

My teaching experience includes two semesters as a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland and University at Buffalo (SUNY). During my high school years, I volunteered at a non-profit organization that provides tutoring services to elementary schoolchildren from low-income families. I truly enjoy helping students realize their potential.

I have a strong background in mathematics, everything from middle school algebra to advanced calculus. My prior coursework includes algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus I-III (including AP Calculus BC), differential equations, and partial differential equations.

In addition to mathematics, I have a broad understanding of a wide variety of subjects, including numerical analysis, chemistry (general, organic, and physical), physics, thermodynamics, kinetics, transport phenomena (fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer), photovoltaic technology, materials science, and process control. Having lived in Germany and Switzerland for a combined ten years, I am also fluent in German.

As far as computers go, I have strong knowledge of HTML, LaTeX, Python, math software packages (MATLAB, Simulink, and MathCAD), ChemCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as moderate experience in Aspen, Pro Engineer, and SolidWorks.

Through prior accounting coursework, I have developed a strong knowledge of income determination, valuation of assets and equities, and the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of published financial statements

I am a former NCAA Division I golfer. I am currently a competitive swimmer with the United States Masters Swimming (USMS).

Please feel free to contact me at any time to schedule an appointment. I am actively accepting new students and look forward to helping you accomplish your academic goals.

Chemical Engineering,

Chemical Engineering

I am currently a chemical engineering PhD student at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. My extensive coursework and research experience in this discipline has prepared me well for teaching the physical and theoretical principles behind chemical engineering, which include mass/energy balances, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, chemistry, and transport phenomena.
Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I completed a formal differential equations course during my studies at the University of Maryland. I also have extensive experience with both ordinary and partial differential equations as applied to transport phenomena (heat, mass and momentum transfer) during my graduate studies.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I completed a formal linear algebra course during my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland. Linear algebra also arises significantly in my day-to-day engineering calculations (especially when solving differential equations with finite difference approximations), so it is a subject I am intimately familiar with.

Organic Chemistry

I successfully completed two semesters of organic chemistry (both in the classroom and in the laboratory) at the University of Maryland. My day-to-day research at the University at Buffalo also involves organic chemistry concepts.

Chris is great!

Chris introduced me to many mathematical topics I haven't seen since high school. I'm very rusty and Chris was patient and listened to my concerns!
