My name is Jessica and I am a tutor specializing in science and Spanish. I graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. I received my Master's of Art in Teaching from Harding University. I taught high school Spanish for a year and a half. Through teaching in the high school setting, I did gain some experience in teaching ACT reading and science through the school's ACT Wednesday's required of all classes. I also taught homebound students in Spanish and Chemistry. In my undergrad, I was part of the Tigers Teach program in which I visited Elementary and Middle schools teaching life and earth sciences. I have taken many classes in science ranging from biology, chemistry, physics, and nursing sciences. I also have many classes in social sciences such as psychology and sociology.
I am a mother of three. My oldest is in high school and my other two children are in elementary school. Therefore, I have life experience with kids of all ages. In the past, I have been employed as a substitute teacher and have substituted classes from Kindergarten through High School in various subjects. Not only have I worked with school aged students but I also work with educating adults. I have volunteered recently as an English as a Second Language teacher for Spanish speaking adults. I look forward to tutoring and helping others succeed in their educational endeavors. My name is Jessica and I am a tutor specializing in science and Spanish. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
