About Jennifer

I love art exploration and it's my heart's desire to keep those around me connected with their own ability to create. It's so awesome that we are made in the image of God who is THE creator and we have the privilege of glorifying Him through our creativity. As I home-school my own four children, I treat art (and music) as part of our core curriculum and not an elective, so we are constantly exercising that part of our brains. It is my understanding that setting aside time for art and creativity can increase one's ability to "problem-solve" in many other aspects of life.

I came to discover my own artistic ability as an adult. Painting became a creative outlet for me in the winter of 2007. I fell in love with the look of bare branches silhouetted against the ever-changing sky and you will see this as recurring subject matter in my paintings. I prefer to work in acrylics, using only primary colors, white and black. All shades and color variations you see in my work is blended primarily on the canvas.

This fall, I am teaching an art class at Lighthouse Tutorial in Antioch, TN. Currently, many of my pieces are on display at The Good Cup in Franklin, TN.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
