Mount Marty College (Music)
My tutoring experience started in high school when a lot of my friends would ask me for help in their math and science classes. Since my small start, I was recognized by the admissions board at my college to be a tutor MY FRESHMAN YEAR! I was so excited to have been allowed to be a tutor as only a freshman that I felt a need to expand my horizons so that I could help in a multitude of subjects. Many students that I have tutored in math and chemistry went from class average to top of their class!
I mostly tutor chemistry, biology, and intro math courses as I was a pre-med student, but I am also very involved with vocal and instrumental music as well as music theory. Along with those listed above, I love helping younger children learn basic math, spelling, and sentence structure as well as improving their reading skills.
I will do my best to be flexible and available, but I am still in school and will be doing sports year round. However, my weekends will be almost empty save for Saturday mornings and I'm always willing to work in the morning before class or in the evening after practices.
As every student likes a different study environment, I have a few places that the student and I can pick from as where they will feel the most comfortable to learn. I am also quite happy to travel a little ways to make it easier on you as well.
I hope to hear from you soon about scheduling a tutoring session with me! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
