Hi, my name is Angie and this is my thirteenth year as a special education teacher. I am highly qualified in learning disabilities K-12 and starting my fifth year in Greenville County Schools. Previously I taught for 8 years in Spartanburg county. I received my teaching degree in Special Education for the Learning Disabled in 2002 from the University of SC in Spartanburg and I earned a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Converse College in 2008. I also earned the Council of Exceptional Teachers "Rookie Teacher of the Year Award as well as numerous special education grants. I am very family oriented and love spending quality time with my three daughters, ages 24, 19 and 16.
I am available afternoons after school, as well as Sunday afternoons between 2-5. I do require a 24 hour cancellation if for some reason you are unavailable to make an appointment, I. am looking forward to working with you and your child.
I currently teach middle school reading, science, social studies and math. I like to use a variety of teaching methods to help each different child, emphasizing organizational skills and student accountability.
My Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education included training in ADD/HD. I have also attended numerous classes and workshops in order to expand my knowledge of teaching special education students. I am patient, and through developing strong parent/student/teacher relationships, I incorporate different learning methods for those children to reach success. Short breaks, a variety of differential instructional materials, tasks chunked r broken down and multi-sensory approaches tend to work better for students that struggle.
