Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Prealgebra

I have tutored in algebra, algebra 2 and geometry for high school students in the recent past before retiring.

Special Needs

I have a teaching certificate in SC for special needs in the areas of Profound learning disability, learning disability, emotional disability, and behavior disability.

Study Skills

I have taught 10th, 11th and 12th graders how to study in a resource setting. Nineteen out of twenty students I taught graduated this past weekend. The last one has one on line course to graduate in August. I taught them how to search for clues on what they are studying.

Swimming

I am a certified Water Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross. I became certified in 2005.

My daughter showed that she was trying very hard to learn from Lori. Lori is a very good tutor for special aid kids.
