About Natalya

Privet! I am an Ivy League educated (University of Pennsylvania), outgoing, enthusiastic and conscientious Russian language tutor, as well as an European history and foreign policy expert. I am fully bilingual and have an extensive experience in teaching, translating and interpreting.

My major strengths include being an articulate communicator in spoken, as well as written, English and Russian languages, deep first-hand knowledge of Russian and European culture, strong ethics, competency in giving both individuals and group lessons, and a warm personality.

Native Russian speaker. Grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia and came to the U.S. as a teenager. I have lived in the U.S. for over 20 years and am a proud U.S. citizen. I taught Russian to corporate clients using the Berlitz teaching method of complete language immersion, and also taught Russian in an after-school care program. I have over 15 years experience working as a Russian translator and interpreter.

I have been interested in foreign policy and European history since I was 6 years old. That intense interest, combined with my upbringing in one of the most cultured and educated cities in Russia (St. Petersburg), have made me quite knowledgeable in these subjects before I was even accepted to the University of Pennsylvania. I have continued expanding my expertise for over 15 years after I got my Diploma.

Would love to meet you over online video, or in person at a Starbucks if you live in my area, and see if we can have a mutually beneficial professional relationship.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Excellent tutor!

Natalya is a very friendly, enthusiastic and effective teacher. The online lessons work very well for me, especially in the area of listening to and speaking Russian. Great lesson plans and follow up.
