I have spent the past 2 years in a Title I elementary school in Denver, Colorado as both a special education teacher and learning specialist. In that time, typically, my students have made one years' growth, but more than 50% have made 2 years' of growth in reading and mathematics. I have excellent recommendations from my principal and my colleagues.
I can effectively analyze data as well as administer screeners to determine the best path for instruction for students with autism, significant learning disabilities, dyslexia and ADD. More importantly, I can differentiate and modify general education work to suit the needs of my students. I have extensive experience with reading instruction in many different modalities in phonics, phonemic awareness, comprehension, fluency and elementary mathematics.
