I have tutored over 295 hours in the greater Myrtle Beach/Conway area. I normally do in-person tutoring at libraries, other public places as well as students' homes. My background includes over 40 years experience in teaching and working with students K-12 as well as college students and other adults in South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. I have over 295 hours of tutoring experience K-12 and 125 Five Star Ratings since 2013 in South Carolina. I tutor students in preschool, elementary, middle school, high school and college.. I am on Wyzant's platform to tutor Spanish, ACT, PSAT, SAT, GED, ASVAB test preparation as well as elementary math and reading, prealgebra, algebra, geometry, English, high school social studies and study skills. I am bilingual and speak both English and Spanish. I am married with four children.

I utilize methods which build on developing students' confidence levels and working on skills which facilitate success; not failure. My rates are discounted for sessions longer than one hour, for siblings and group tutoring sessions for two or more.

My educational background includes post graduate classes in acting, directing and theatre arts management. I oversee the operation of theatre programs in NJ and SC and am responsible for putting over 12,500 young performers on stage in the past 34 years.

Alex is patient and understands the areas that my daughter needs the most help in. She is positive and enthusiastic after each tutoring session which is extremely important to us. Alex helped my 3rd grader with memorizing her multiplication tables. She was struggling on her multiplication assessments beforehand. He was very experienced with how to find her strengths and weaknesses. He knew how to gently challenge her and what ways worked best for my daughter. She reacted very well to the tutoring sessions and she was very proud of her passing assessment. It has also helped her confidence level as far as that goes. I plan on using Alex again in the future, maybe regularly. Thank you so much for your help and hard work!
