Learn from my experience, in English and in Medicine. I am an American with years of experience in higher education; 3 American degrees and a teaching certificate from Cambridge University. I focus now on language, writing and English instruction, but my medical background persists. I practiced for years here and am still board-certified. Learn from my experience, in English and in Medicine. I am an American with years of experience in higher education; 3 American degrees and a teaching certificate from Cambridge University. I focus now on language, writing and English instruction, but my medical background persists. I practiced for years here and am still board-certified. You may expect instruction that is personalized, polished and professional ('alliteration' -- See, you're learning already!). Neither Medicine nor English are easy to master; I am student of foreign languages myself. However, you will see your progress with every lesson, then exercise it in your own world. We'll call it "Language therapy"!

Writing with Purpose To write is to speak to the reader. In a voice that is clear, directive and compelling. I have written for academic, professional and popular reasons. In each instance, it is critical to know the audience, to speak in a voice that they will understand (whatever their intelligence and vocabulary. To be CELTA trained is to review the rules of English grammar--an important qualification for students struggling with their writing.

Helpful teacher

We met for first time and he worked with me to design the way I want to learn. He is flexible and helpful as a teacher. He was on time and was able to meet at a location that was convenient for me.

Carmen, 4 lessons with Brian

Brian was patient and insightful in beginning his work with my son.

He built upon my son's "likes," using them as a springboard for building vocabulary and comprehension. He uses excellent powers of observation to tailor the work toward areas that need improvement.
