Hey There! My name is Dave F., and I work for the University of South Carolina as a Student Life professional. I have tutored elementary through college students for the better part of the last 8 years, and have aided dozens of students in the greater Columbia area achieve academic success. Not only do I enjoy aiding students in their academia, but I will strive to help a student stay positive through their studying, and aid them with test-taking skills.
My method of teaching is a simple Point A to Point B method, which I found to be most impactful when working with students. If there is a problem we can solve it, and I have great patience to help a student be successful. I have experience TAing college statistics, as well as 2 years of tutoring elementary school students.

My first tutoring experience as a student was great. David is knowledgeable about the information covered in my Statistics class. I look forward to working with him throughout this course to not only improve my grade, but to actually grasp what I am learning.
David helped my daughter study for her SATs and gave her some helpful tips to use for test day. He took the time to go over the material and explain any questions she had.
David was very helpful in easing my anxiety regarding statistics. He arrived on time and was very professional. He was very patient as he explained the various concepts. Although he knew what he was doing, he never made me feel stupid for not understanding statistics. Although I am not completely comfortable, I do have less anxiety regarding statistics. I would recommend David as a tutor to anyone who needs the help.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored several students in general and advanced accounting over the last two years. Many of the students I have worked with are currently in the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business, one of the top business schools in the country. I have helped them improve their subject knowledge, confidence, and overall performance in their coursework. Students I have worked with have gotten no less than a B+ on their final accounting grade!
