My diverse teaching experience has allowed me to educate all styles of learners. One of my greatest strengths as an educator is meeting the unique needs of individual students by creating tailored lessons. Adaptations are based on student I.E.P.’s, program modifications, and the needs of gifted students. I always provide one on one instruction to any student who has difficulty with the assignment. I strive to create an engaging learning environment that promotes creativity and self expression through art. I collaborate with classroom teachers to create lessons that enhance what is learned across the curriculum. My goal is to increase student motivation and understanding of the arts while implementing multidisciplinary lessons involving math, science, social studies, literacy and multiculturalism
Writing is one of my greatest strengths. I use art as a tool to encourage and motivate students to write. I have excellent grammar and spelling skills. As a reading and writing literacy teacher I encourage students and build their confidence.
Using phonics and clapping out syllables helps students improve their spelling.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
