I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and am currently retired from the telecommunications industry. I completed over 30 credit hours in mathematics while pursuing my degree including College Algebra, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, and Differential Equations. I started tutoring my peers while completing my undergraduate degree and continued tutoring part-time for 10 years after graduation. I have always enjoyed tutoring and seeing my students gain confidence while their math abilities improved. From 2000 to 2011 I home schooled both my children thru algebra 1.

My main goal is for your child to improve their knowledge base in mathematics, to believe in their ability and to become more confident in school. To do this the child must be willing to learn and to dedicate the needed time to practice. I am very patient while explaining a concept and will look for alternate ways of illustrating it until your child feels they have grasped it. I tend to do an initial evaluation of strengths and areas to focus on during our first session to develop a plan to best help your child.

Originally from Venezuela I and am fluent in Spanish as well as English and can tutor math in either language. I encourage you to contact me for an initial lesson, you will not be disappointed.

Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I have been tutoring Algebra 1 for many years. Pre-algebra is a common name for a course in middle school mathematics to prepare students for the study of Algebra 1. As a tutor of Algebra I know what concepts are important in Pre-algebra to build a strong foundation for the later courses. These topics include several broad subjects: review of natural number arithmetic, new types of numbers such as integers, fractions, decimals and negative numbers. These math concepts are the foundation for harder concepts in Algebra 1.

Great math tutor!

Our family used Carol as a tutor a couple of times. Carol always had math worksheets for our son and requested they be returned the night prior, on her time so she could assess his competency and level of understanding before proceeding. She has been very easy to work with and I would highly recommend her!

My daughter absolutely loved the lesson with Carol B.

My daughter needed assistance with her accelerated math class and Carol was wonderful in her assistance with my daughter. She was so enthusiastic after the lesson and even came over to me after the lesson just to give me a hug and a thank you for setting up the lesson. Thank you Carol.

Very patient and effective. She's Great Tutoring for ASVAB

I'm just not very good at math in general and but when Carol started tutoring me, I was able to understand many of the problems that I didn't before thanks to Carol. She really went in depth with the problems at hand and gave me homework that I could work on and those homework's helped me to understand many problems. She also had many useful strategies and tips. I enjoyed the sessions we had together and I can't wait for our next session.
