Austin Peay State University (Foreign Language)
Hello out there! I'm a recent college graduate, who double majored in Theatre and Foreign Language, and I'm currently in the mist of moving to the Atlanta area! I Iove learning and helping others learn, although I've never had any professional tutoring experience, I have often assisted fellow collegues at my university in the Subjects of Spanish, Reading and Vocabulary.
I have studied Spanish since my sophomore year of high school and on into my college career. In that time I've traveled abroad to threel different spanish speaking nations, and visit ed one of them twice. I have recently been watching firm of media in Spanish such as Youtubers, Movies, and T.V shows.
Reading and Vocabulary go hand in hand, and as such means they both have been a Hobbie of mine since I was in the third grade. I started my reading career from the childrens "Magic Treehouse" series and right up and into the Young Adult fiction, such as "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" and learned many new words and definitions for words I both new and didn't. I am often amazed at words I've learned from books.
Learning with me will be a exciting and enjoyable experience because I'm flexible, easy to get a long with and creative! My goal as your tutor will be to improve you're skills and help you build more by making our lessons fun. I'll include your interest and hobbies into our learning, for instance: Playing the Spanish version to your favorite song, reading the book of your favorite movie, or watching shakespearean plays! No matter your learning level we'll have fun. So if you love Spanish or you want an extra boost in your reading and vocabulary, please contact me and we'll set a date to discuss what it is your looking for at your current level! Don't be shy! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have graduated from a university with a degree in Theatre which introduced me to many plays and literary works. Also during my time in college I had many required readings and papers that required a college reading level. I am versed in some of the classics, such as To Kill a Mockingbird, Tom Sawyer, and many Shakespearean works. Outside of academics, reading for leisure had been a hobby of mine so I'm familiar with what it means to enjoy the subject.
I have Studied Spanish for the past 6 years and have earned a degree within the field at a university setting. I have studied abroad in Spanish speaking nations on multiple occasions. I continue my practice by listening to Spanish spoken media such as movies, and TV shows.
